Ocoee Tennessee where it all started

Prior to 1976, Ocoee Tennessee was a sleepy little community with a tranquil lifestyle. Upon the dismantling of the old flume line that carried water from the Ocoee Number Two diversion dam to  to the historic Ocoee Number Two pwer plant located five miles west down US Highway 64 , a long dormant Ocoee River sprang to life. The word got out quickly and soon neraby outdoor enthusiasts were headed up the Ocoee River Gorge to marvel at the “new” rapids that lied just off the road. Word spread quickly and Whitewater enthusiasts from all across the southern United States camre to the southeast corner of Tennessee to see what all the fuss was about.
